Reference: Sales Training Programme 2008

Thank you for having taken our team through a bespoke sales training programme this year.

The training was absolutely relevant to the development needs within our team. So often training programmes are created and delegates are then required to fit the programme! This was absolutely not the case here.

The training was so much more than simply sales processes & techniques, although our team have gained clarity in how to make their systems work more effectively.

It is due to your experience and expertise, that our team have been sparked & provoked into action, sharpening their skills, and really challenging their thinking & self awareness.

The follow-up to the programme has made an immense difference to the performance of our team, with tangible activities which are taking place as a result of their learning. The activities and documents are simple and straight forward and assist our Director of Sales to follow-up the training. These are value tools which will go a long way in supporting the learning to challenge the activities which are so often forgotten. As a result there has been a significant difference in the performance of our sales team and improved performance is an inevitable consequence. Some of the team now have additional responsibilities in increasing the knowledge & awareness of the wider team. They are now fully equipped and have no reason not to maximise on our sales conversion and meet their sales targets.

This development programme was a true example of setting our team up for success. Thank you for making that difference.

I would happily recommend you to others should they need support in this area.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Manchester Airport

Crowne Plaza

Following a £4m refurbishment programme which included the addition of an Executive Club and Executive rooms we needed to re-launch the property and really put it on the map of the local business and leisure community. Ursuline developed and implemented marketing and sales re-launch plan that attracted new business and leisure guests one of her greatest strengths was keeping our creative suppliers on track and to deadline. We gained excellent press and media coverage and a raft of promotions increased spend by guests and repeat visits. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ursuline and would highly recommend her services.

Holiday Inn Fareham, Hampshire

Holiday Inn

Any hotel that has been closed for a year has a lot of work to do but one that was devastated by fire needs to rebuild local PR and business confidence. In just six weeks Ursuline helped us put together a sales and marketing plan that ensured we opened with style and acclaim. We were the talk of the business and leisure community and were featured extensively in the local media. All this activity helped to ensure that we quickly rebuilt our client base and delivered against our own and the companies’ expectations. Ursuline’s own personal style and infectious energy ensured she bonded with the team and became a valuable member of the opening crew.

Chelsea Village Hotels & Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea Village HotelsChelsea Football Club

"As Chief Executive of Chelsea Village Group I had full responsibility for our hotel and restaurant operation. Such was Ursuline’s success with the hotel marketing and sales teams that I asked her to develop similar practices for the football club and travel business. I also asked her to set up and chair away day presentations for strategy development and annual targets and how best to achieve them. In both cases these went down extremely well and resulted in an energised sales team focused upon achieving the desired goals.

I have no hesitation in recommending Ursuline and her team."

The Open University, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire

The Open University

The Open University

The role of Marketing & Sales within the Open University needed to move from passive order taking to strategic direction and influence. To develop this cultural change we needed ‘a model’ of best practice for marketing. I needed a Project Manager, but we didn’t have anyone internally with the correct skills. An external Project Manager who would train, coach and up skill the existing team to deliver. Someone who could work cross functionally within the business and influence at very senior levels. Ursuline did all of this with passion, determination and a healthy sense of humour . She delivered us a very successful Business School marketing and business development project which has been the catalyst for change and paved the way for future success.

Ursuline has worked on several other projects including a communications re-launch and a detailed segmentation strategy. Each time she skillfully implements major change projects using existing resources which means that our marketing personnel are equipped with new marketing knowledge, capabilities and skills.

Director of Marketing & Sales

'Ursuline worked with me based on the recommendation of our Marketing Director. The organisation was just forming following the first of several acquisitions and a marketing plan was required. Within days Ursuline understood the issues we needed to address and the organisational and system pressures we faced. Ursuline grabbed the task by the throat, engaged well with all areas of the business and moved us forward. She took the team with her and coached many of them on the way. I was so impressed with Ursuline that I subsequently engaged her on two further occasions, primarily around the marketing and product management arenas. Ursuline was always effective, was well liked by those she worked with and was extremely good at ensuring her knowledge and expertise was passed on - working herself out of a job!.'

The workshop hosted by Ursuline Edwards-Sutton of Modus Operandi was a great success with the members. The Greater London Chartered Institute of Marketing organises events that provide useful business skills and insights that help marketers with their professional development. The knowledge and skills gained from this workshop enabled individuals to look at how they branded and marketed themselves. The three hours flew past in an instant and everyone attending the workshop thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will certainly ask Modus Operandi to host further workshops in the future.

VAT Liaison - Worcester

VAT Liaison

With a very mixed audience the corporate Image and Personal Branding workshop had something for everyone: senior management to junior administrator, male and female, young and mature. Using humour and interactivity Modus Operandi challenged our current thinking. The content was relevant and varied: how to make an entrance, reading body language, personal branding and the importance of professional image management within our business culture. Each of us walked away with fresh insights and a resolve to review our own personal and professional presentation, marketing and branding.
